Company Profile

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence.[i] It is also traded at the NSE India (National Stock Exchange of India) and Bombay Stock Exchange.[ii] BDL has produced missiles designed to deliver Indian nuclear warheads. In the financial year ending 31 March 2025, it generated revenues of ₹33.45 billion.[iii]

Nuclear Weapons

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) was incorporated under the Indian Ministry of Defence as the manufacturing base for guided missile systems and allied equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.[i] BDL has been identified as the prime production agency for the Indian Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme, and has been involved in the Prithvi and Agni nuclear-capable missile programmes.[ii] BDL also provides product life cycle support and refurbishment, and support for life extension programmes.[iii]

In August 2025, the Indian Government announced it successfully test fired the Agni-V ballistic missile.[iv] BDL “is involved in Rocket Motors integration, Explosives, Final Integration, Testing, Canisterization of Missile and Checkout” of Agni-V Systems.[v]

India is also rumoured to be developing a new intercontinental ballistic missile, the Agni-VI.[vi]
