L3Harris Technologies has provided flight test instrumentation support and services for the Trident II (D5) system. In 2023, L3Harris acquired Aerojet Rocketdyne, one of Northrop Grumman’s nation-wide team members that is building the new U.S. ICBM.
L3Harris Technologies was established in 2019 through the merger of Harris Corporation and L3 Technologies.[i] The company describes itself as a global aerospace and defence technology innovator, delivering end-to-end solutions that meet customers' mission-critical needs.[ii] L3Harris Technologies has provided flight test instrumentation support and services for the Trident II (D5) system. In 2023, L3Harris acquired Aerojet Rocketdyne, one of Northrop Grumman’s nation-wide team members that is building the new U.S. ICBM. In the financial year ending 2 January 2026, L3Harris generated revenues of $21.9 billion.[iii]

L3Harris states on its website that it is the post boost propulsion supplier for all of the current U.S. strategic deterrence weapon systems and currently produces propulsion systems for the Navy Trident II D5 missile systems.[i] L3Harris subsidiary Interstate Electronics Corporation also has an outstanding contract for flight test instrumentation support and services related to the Trident II (D5) nuclear missile.[ii]
L3Harris subsidiary Aerojet Rocketdyne builds solid boost propulsion systems and has powered every U.S. intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) ever fielded.[iii] Aerojet Rocketdyne is also part of the team put together by Northrop Grumman to build the Sentinel, the new U.S. intercontinental ballistic missile, for which it is developing a large solid rocket motor and the post-boost propulsion system.[iv]
